what the heck is Human Garage ? For me, it feels like I’ve had a good sleep, an osteopath session, massage & physio. The best nights sleep. Recalibration. I arrange my diary around it. Here’s why my date with Emily at Lions Den City in Norwich is a non-negotiable... Ever stretched and felt that delicious, rippling release that seems to travel through your whole body, not just one muscle ? That’s the feeling we’re exploring. (and who is still dressing up the ugly sister for Christmas...) The luxury beauty advent calendar has evolved from a niche marketing tool into a genuine retail battleground. Dermalogica's entry is a useful case study in strategy, pricing and what these boxes are actually worth now. The short answer - years 2023-25 meh. 2026 ? I'm getting three for myself… With a pricetag of £229 & value of £546 - it's a big number next to the word value that shouldn't impress on its own. Bu

and a traditional checklist if you're in crisis I’m almost as fed up with the term biohacking as I am self care. But beneath the noise there are researched & proven missing pieces of the jigsaw that can reshape your sleep architecture with little or no effort. Sleep is now a six hundred billion pound industry, & we're still sleeping roughly an hour less than we did sixty years ago. More devices, more tracking, less rest. sensitive skin can be invisible. and shouldn't make you feel like you wish you were. For years, sensitive skin was treated as something visible. Redness. A flare. A rash. Something to calm down with one soothing product until it settled. But reactive skin is often doing far more beneath the surface. It can feel tight, hot, itchy, uncomfortable, burning or stinging. Products you once tolerated can suddenly feel impossible. And in deeper skin tones, visible redness may not be

what changes in your 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and beyond what I would actually prioritise There is a point for many of us when the face in the mirror seems to have moved on faster than the person inside it. That does not mean your skin has suddenly failed you. Skin changes gradually, then hormones, accumulated sun exposure, stress, sleep, lifestyle and simple biology can make those changes feel as though they have arrived all at once. After more than 30 years working hands-on with

I designed a career around developing the ultimate facial treatment. It’s my job, I love what I do & do what I love. From cellular level to 5* flourishes that make for a delicious experience, it’s maybe not surprising I struggle to receive my own standards. I often come unstuck when I go for a facial. Last week’s attempt would be no exception. I have a ritual of actively relishing the time on the run up to a holiday - apparently we’re 90% happier when we have one booked,

biomimetic skincare serum ? the science behind the technology... As a biochemist in a previous life, I always want to delve deeper into HOW a product works, WHY I should use it, & WHAT justifies the price tag. My quest has always been to offer as much education as I understand, sift through the marketing, & allow clients the space to make informed decisions. I treat jargon with disdain, but I want to give you more than the description on the back of the box. My iPhone 7+ h

I currently have a client who described using an acid based wash, acid toner & blemish control pads – all at least twice a day, in addition exfoliates twice a week, & no surprise, has developed what she described as ‘eczema’. The approach seems logical, but without understanding how the ingredients work or what to buy, from a virtual distance it looks like she’s prescribed herself seborrheic dermatitis. A lot of skin care ‘how & what questions’ can be answered with the fact
